A New Silver Green Achiever
We are delighted to announce that:
 
DB Construction is the first construction company to be awarded with the Silver Standard of the Green Achiever Scheme.  Pictured above is Daniel Smith (Managing Director) and Jack Bowie (Health, Safety and Environment Manager), with both Green Achiever Registration Certificate and their Silver Achiever Award Certificate.
 
DB Construction is a Hertfordshire and Essex based company and became part of the nationwide Green Achiever Scheme early this year.  They are the first construction company to achieve the Silver Achiever Award status.  This is part of DB Constructions continued commitment to the Environment.  Having already achieved CHAS status for Health and Safety, DB Construction saw the Green Achiever scheme as the perfect partner to demonstrate their Green credentials.
Daniel Smith, Managing Director of DB Construction, saw the Green Achiever Scheme as a very important step to take for his business.
 
"Within the construction industry there have been giant leaps in the standards of Health and Safety, yet sadly not as much emphasis on environmental issues. The Green Achiever Scheme is an incredibly focused and clear way to assess our company and to make commitments to improve, whilst maintaining a flourishing client base and steady growth."

To achieve the Silver level of Green Achiever, a business needs to undergo a detailed environmental audit that checks compliance to environmental legislation and assesses the current status of the business with regard to issues such as energy efficiency, emissions to air and water, waste management, and environmental communication.  A carbon footprint exercise and an action plan to address the key environmental concerns identified during the audit are key outputs of the process.  The next step is to achieve these goals and move towards the Gold Standard of the scheme.


The Green Achiever award is rapidly becoming recognised as a way for companies to show customers they are actually becoming greener.
