Green Achiever Self-Assessment Accreditation

What you get:
  • A bespoke Declaration of Environmental Commitment.
  • What is this?
A Declaration of Environmental commitment is essentially an environmental policy except instead of making endless pledges; we focus on what you are doing now and what you aims are for next year. This shows that you are continuously reviewing your green side. Examples of this document can be found for any Self-Assessed company in our Green Business Directory.

  • A Self-Assessed certificate valid for a year to display online or in your office.
  • A years’ listing on our Green Business Directory.
  • FREE newsletter updates to keep you in the know and updated on environmental legislation.
  • The opportunity to feature in Green Achiever Tweets, Newsletters and on our blog – if our Green Achiever members have a story, we can share it with our 1,000 + Twitter followers and 1400+ Newsletter subscribers.

What are the main benefits of this accreditation?
  • It’s put together by professionals.
A Green Achiever Declaration of Environmental Commitment is a document composed by environmental experts, many of which are accredited by institutions such as IEMA. You can trust us.
  • It can win you contracts.
A business with environmental accreditation has an edge on competition. Many industries (cleaning, construction, engineering etc) will need some evidence that they are responsible for their environmental impact – Green Achiever Self-Assessed accreditation covers this.
  • You can set out your Green Goals.
An environmental policy is great for getting staff and stakeholders on board and ‘in the know’ concerning your future green aspirations. It can feature in induction handbooks, on your website and even in your business plan.
  • It’s a great promotional device.
Green Achiever membership comes with a valid certificate and use of the Self-Assessed Green Achiever logo. Consumers care about accreditation and, in many cases, clients will request to see your credentials.
How does it work?
The Self-Assessed accreditation is easy to complete. The first step is filling out a form which helps us get an idea of your current environmental activities and any actions you wish to pursue in the future (i.e we want to install solar panels but can’t do so until next year).

Once we receive your completed form, we use a spreadsheet formulated to produce a star rating from the answers you have given. We then question whether the star rating is accurate to your business specifically and how many of the actions you could feasibly carry out. For example, not all businesses can have a woodburner so we adjust the score to suit your situation.

Using your answers, we compile a Declaration of Environmental Commitment and create a certificate to reflect your star rating which is then sent to you via post (printed on recycled card of course!). The following year, we compare your answers to the previous year’s answers to see the areas in which you have made progress and achieved your aims.

So how much does this cost?
At 250 (+VAT) the Green Achiever Self-Assessment Accreditation is great value for money – even if we do say so ourselves.
